hello!

My name is Stan and I would like to welcome you to my website. To learn more about me and the basis for skm3, please read-on! If you wish to see some of the site development notes, check out my blog! For any comments/questions/concerns, visit the contact page; which includes various methods to reach me. Thank you for visiting skm3!

about me

So who is Stan? Proprietor of the great skm3 website? I'm just a guy from Montana who enjoys writing code and building programs. I work mostly in C# and asp.net to maintain websites; but also have been trying my hand in other programming/computer technologies, like: Python, Unity, Linux, and Raspberry Pi's

As far as my .Net experience goes, it's largely spent in .Net Framework working on WebForm applications and migrating some to MVC. I have experience working with SQL Server and know how to connect a variety of databases to .Net applications; as well as how to create queries and scripts in SQL. In C#, I have gotten very familiar with SAML and OIDC authentication and have integrated solutions on a multitude of sites (including this one)

Going into my personal details a little bit, I have 2 Associate degrees: one in Computer Programming and the other in Network Administration. I'm an avid video gamer and enjoy both Nintendo and PlayStation systems. I love animals and own two cats (Fry and Sasha)!

about skm3

The skm3.net domain was originally purchased during the 2020 pandemic. The site itself has undergone multiple evolutions as I have developed on it. Originally hosting a more static website design, I later modified it to use .Net Framework

Most recently the website was migrated to use .Net Core, allowing for a more modular and mobile friendly design. Authentication was added around this time, allowing for the addition of restricted areas; most notably the site blog. The blog was created with a SQL database backend; utilizing Entity Framework for connecting thru the site frontend

In 2022 an official logo was commissioned and added to the site. This also came with a cleanup to the layout and improved site consistency. More changes and features are intended to come; so please return over time to see them put to use. To see specific updates to the site, be sure to check out the site blog
